I chose to do the Dali Museum as my second artist blog post. The first thing I noticed was the building itself. A lot of it is made out of triangular glass windows and it looks really cool. Then I learned that it was named on AOL's top ten buildings that you should see in your lifetime. I thought that was really cool. Just the outside alone is a work of art. Theres a thing called a mathematical spiral, and its there because Dali had a lot of proportions and math into his works. Theres a Wish Tree where you can leave your wish notes there and the tree trunk is twisted which symbolizes an axis connecting heaven and earth. The tree is near a bench with the melting clock on it. Theres also a fountain of youth at the entrance. Theres a giant spiral staircase in the middle of the museum. There are many different galleries like the student gallery and morse gallery. A lot of his works and museum had to do with his Spanish culture. Theres a big exhibit comparing Picasso and Dali, saying how similar they are. Most importantly, I really liked the giant mustache exhibit.
The artist lecture that I attended was Jules de Balincourt. I took a lot of random notes, which you can read below.

This is the real photograph of the image we created on Photoshop.
This is a paper sculpture of my wallet. I made the scale identical and I tried to add as many details as I could. I didn't get to take better pictures of my paper wallet like I would have liked to because rain made the paper warp and kind of fall apart.
Derive. The assignment was to walk around and collect things you found while walking. Then, you would paint those objects black or white and put them on a background that was the same color as your painted objects. I went to a park in The Tampa Palms because it's a nice area and I've never really been exploring there. I chose white because black is very dark and hard to see. This is my derive. :)
